Uganda P171607: Investment for Industrial Transformation and Employment (INVITE) Project

Public Disclosure of the INVITE Trust Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) and the Environment and Social (E&S) Capacity Building Plan

The Government of Uganda (GoU) received credit and grant from the International Development Association (IDA), complemented by other development Partners including Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Sweden through a Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) Grant towards financing of the Investment for Industrial Transformation and Employment (INVITE) Project being implemented by the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED) and Bank of Uganda (BoU) through the INVITE Trust and the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU).

The Project commenced in the Financial Year 2023/2024 and is planned to close in Financial Year 2026/2027.

The Project Development Objective (PDO) is to mitigate the effect of COVID-19 on Private Sector Investment and Employment and to Support New Economic Opportunities including in Refugee and Hosting Communities.

In compliance with the World Bank Environmental and Social Standards and Public Disclosure requirements, GoU through INVITE Trust prepared and hereby discloses the Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) and the Environment and Social Capacity Building Plan.
