We shall continue to focus on enhancing domestic revenue mobilization, expanding productive infrastructure, creating productive jobs and wealth creation, accelerating industrialization, export promotion, private sector development and human capital development in a peaceful and secure country.
Together with my colleagues and the technical team, we pledge to prioritize policies that will transform Uganda from a peasant to a modern industrial and prosperous country by 2040.

Matia Kasaija
Minister of Finance Planning and Economic Development.
This Website is part of the efforts by the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development to enhance communication and smooth flow of information to our stakeholders.
The Ministry is mandated to formulate sound economic and fiscal policies, mobilize resources for implementation of government programmes, and ensure that all public resources are efficiently allocated and accounted to foster sustainable economic growth and development.
Over the years, the Ministry has made great strides in fulfilling its mandate by providing policy guidance and mobilizing resources that have led to remarkable achievements and growth of the economy.
We have strengthened consultative processes with other government Ministries Departments and Agencies, Local Governments, Development Partners, the Private sector, the Media, the Academia, Civil society organizations and the general public to enhance public awareness about government priorities and citizen’s participation in the budget process and implementation of development programmes.
Going forward, the Ministry will pursue interventions to strengthen economic resilience and mitigate the global and domestic shocks by implementing fiscal consolidation which entails domestic revenue mobilization, reduction in domestic borrowing to support the private sector and scaling down on public expenditure.
The Ministry is committed to ensure prudent economic management that will lead to inclusive economic growth.
I therefore, take this opportunity to welcome you to the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development Website http://www.finance.go.ug
