Farewell: Keep Integrity at Finance Ministry- Kasaija
Former Finance Minister Matia Kasaija has urged the Leadership and Staff of the Finance Ministry to maintain integrity in honour of his legacy as both State Minister and Finance Minister over the last 15 years.
Kasaija made the remarks at a farewell luncheon organized by the Ministry to honor the outgoing and incoming Minister and Ministers of State for Finance, Planning and Economic Development at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
Finance Minister Henry Musasizi thanked Kasaija for successfully concluding his tour of duty diligently at the Finance Ministry and offering a conducive environment for the both the political and technical team to perform their duties.
He also thanked former Ministers of State Evelyn Anite and Haruna Kasolo now Acting Foreign Affairs Minister for the team work exhibited and cordial relationship while at the Ministry.
Musasizi thanked the current Ministers of State Amos Lugoloobi, Aminah Mukalazi and Ciccy Mulondo as well as the technical team led by the Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury (PSST) Dr. Ramathan Ggoobi for the support.
Musasizi pledged to maintain the legacy of Kasaija, adding that he has learnt a lot from him and will serve with integrity to meet the expectations of Ugandans and the appointing authority H.E the President.
The PSST on his part thanked each of the outgoing Ministers for their contribution during their tenure at the Finance Ministry. He also welcomed the new political leaders and pledged total support from the technical team as they work to transform Uganda into a rich country. “Today we celebrate the spirit of service above self,” said Ggoobi.
The luncheon was also attended by Heads of Government Institutions affiliated to the Finance Ministry including Bank of Uganda, National Planning Authority, Uganda Bureau of Statistics and Government Banks among others.
