Rubanda Leaders Commit to Unity and People-Centred Development
Musasizi Calls for Unity, Women’s Empowerment and Household Wealth Creation.
Finance Minister, Hon. Henry Musasizi, has called on Rubanda leaders and residents to prioritise unity, cooperation and people-centred development, emphasizing that the interests of the people must always come before personal interests.
Speaking at the graduation of more than 300 women who completed a 10-day skills training programme under the Government of Uganda’s Generating Growth Opportunities and Productivity for Women Enterprises (GROW) Project at the UNITE campus in Kabale, Musasizi said Rubanda leaders had resolved, following the 2026 General Elections, to work together for the welfare of their people.

He urged residents to embrace unity at all levels, stressing that service delivery must be guided by people’s needs rather than constituency boundaries. “There is no Rubanda East or Rubanda West when it comes to development programmes,” he said, calling for priority to be given to communities with greater needs.
The Minister also encouraged women to pursue viable business ventures through proper planning, sound financial management and careful assessment of costs and expected profits. He urged households to maximise available land through intensive agriculture and livestock farming to improve productivity and incomes.
Supported by the Government of Uganda and the World Bank, the GROW Project equipped the women with practical skills in tailoring, hairdressing, beauty services, agribusiness and financial literacy to promote entrepreneurship and economic independence.

The ceremony was attended by area MPs Evelyn Ninsiima Kikafunda and Bruce Balaba Kabaasa, GROW Project National Coordinator Dr Ruth Aisha Biyinzika Kasolo, and other Rubanda District leaders.
The initiative highlights the importance of women’s economic empowerment, equitable service delivery and collective leadership in advancing household prosperity and sustainable development in Rubanda.
