UGANDA OFF FATF GREY LIST

The Financial Action Task Force ( FATF), a global body mandated to lead action to counter threats of abuse of the financial system by criminals and terrorists has removed Uganda from the Grey list.

Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury (PSST), Ggoobi and his technical team met the Permanent Secretary(PS) Ministry of Public Service, Catherine Musingwire and her team as well as team from Ministry of Local Government led by Commissioner Cyprian Chillanyang to discuss the findings of the recent payroll audit by the Auditor General on the wage bill .

Finance Minister signed  a loan financing agreement worth USD 30 million for the Katine-Ochero road upgrading project with the Director General,OPEC Fund for International Development Dr.Abdulhamid Al-Khalifa at Ministry of Finance, planning and Economic Development.

Finance Minister Hon. Matia Kasaija met the AfDB Group Vice-President Power,Energy,Climate and Green Growth Complex Dr Kevin Kariuki who called on him at his office at ministry of finance. The Minister and  AfDB Group VP discussed the performance of AfDB Group portfolio in Uganda, performance of the economy and issues causing delays in implementation of some projects.
